On May 15, 2014 an early session of the NKR Central Electoral Commission was held where different issues relating to the electoral processes have been listened and discussed.The edited version of the draft of the NKR new Electoral Code has been summarized at the session. Taking into account the suggestions of the members of the Central and Territorial Electoral Commissions and state bodies relating to the elections as well as the results of the public discussions, the commission has liked the draft of the NKR new Electoral Code and has decided to submit it to the discussion of the NKR government at the aim of speaking at the National Assembly .
The Central Electoral Commission has also discussed the issue on scheduling a supplementary majoritarian election to the National Assembly at N 16 polling station of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and on preparing and holding the elections.Based upon the protocol of May 13, 2014 of the NKR National Assembly about the termination of powers of the deputy of the NKR National Assembly Kamo Martirosyan according to the 23 paragraph of the 1 part of the 42 article and the 1 and 2 parts of the 115 article, because of the vacancy in the National Assembly by the majoritarian system, the NKR Central Electoral Commission has decided to schedule a supplementary majoritarian election to the National Assembly at N 16 polling station of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic on July 31, 2014; the schedule of the main measures and the estimate expenditures for the preparation and conduct of the supplementary elections have been approved.
According to the schedule, the nomination deadline for the candidates to the National Assembly at N 16 polling station has been set from May 17 to May 22 18.00. At the same period parties ( party alliences ) can also nominate candidates to the deputy by the majoritarian system.
The registration of the candidates of the deputies nominated at the N 16 polling station will be implemented from June 21 to June 26 by the Territorial Electoral Commission of Kashatagh.
The pre- election campaign will start after the following day of the registration of the candidates and will end a day before the election, i.e. from June 27 to July 29 24.00.
The observers and journalists can be accredited from today till the eve of the elections.
According to the N 299-N decision of May 14, 2014 of the NKR government ordinary elections of the Community Head of Arakel (region of Hadrut) will be held on July 6 of this year.
According to the schedule approved by the decision of the Central Electoral Commission the nomination deadline for the candidates of the community head has been set from June 6 to June 11.
The registration of the nominated candidates to the community head will be implemented from June 11 to June 16 by the Territorial Electoral Commission of Hadrut.
The responsibles of the Central Electoral Commission and the Territorial Electoral Commissions of Hadrut and Kashatagh have been given instructions at the end of the session , which are targeted to provide a proper organization of the elections defined by the Electoral Code in a timely manner as well as the implementation of the electoral right of the citizens.
